  • The validity of the permit depends on the expiry date of the land owner's NOC, provided that it doesn't exceed 1 year.

  • You can apply for an advertising permit for a period of 6 months or less, but the fee is calculated for a full year, based on Article (1) of the Executive Council Resolution No. (18) of 2013 . A part of a year is considered.
  • A full year, a part of a week is considered a full week, a part of a day is considered a full day, and a part of 
    a metre is considered a full metre.

  • One of the requirements for automatic renewal is an NOC from the land or property owner. The period 
    of automatic renewal mustn't exceed 3 years for the following types of advertising permits:

    • Hoarding or fence
    • Lighting pole
    • Mupi
    • Digital screens
    • Unipole, minipole, and megacom
    • Wall sign on a building façade.
  • You can apply to pay fees and fines in instalments through the following banks:
    • Emirates NBD , for a period of 12 months, by following these steps .
    • Emirates Islamic Bank , for a period of 24 months, by following these steps.

Can a company operating in Dubai Free Zones apply for a permit to advertise within the Free Zones through Mada Media

No, the advertising permit must be issued by the Free Zone Authority. Mada Media issues permits for advertisements outside the Free Zones.

Can I pay the fines upon renewing the trade licence?

Yes

Can I obtain a permit to place pictures of the Sheikhs and the UAE flag on the façades of buildings or hotels?

There's no objection to placing pictures of the Sheikhs or UAE flag or Dubai flag on buildings or hotels, but the visuals must be approved by the Advertisement Section,  Dubai Munciplaity with no additional fees.

Are advertising signboards that include trade names authorised by Mada Media?

Signboards that include trade names on facilities are authorised by the Department of Economy and Tourism, but signboards that include trade names on building rooftops are authorised by Mada Media
